The client, a Private Equity Firm, wanted to organise and categorize the raw store-level sales data stored in the data room for a potential target. The client requested the TresVista Team to prepare a comprehensive data room file covering all relevant information. Once the data room was organized, the client wanted to analyze and draw inferences from the categorized data.
To create a comprehensive data room file presenting the raw data stored in the data room in an organized manner. Organize the data into different categories and then analyze the company information to draw meaningful insights.
The TresVista Team followed the following process:
• The team started by understanding the data dump that was sent for store-level metrics
• Combined various files and created a single file that could be used in the future
• The team categorized the files based on different parameters to draw meaningful insights from the data
• Finally, the team consolidated the analysis in a deck that was easily understandable and presentable
Due to the huge volume of data, the primary hurdle faced by the TresVista Team while running the analysis file was to not omit any critical piece of information. To help validate the calculated metrics, the TresVista Team shared a version of the data room file with the client with all the formulae intact, and later upon receiving client approval, pasted the values as numbers to reduce the file size.
The TresVista Team churned out relevant numbers from the data dump and created various versions of the file so that the client can choose what suits him best. The team was also able to reduce the file size making the file increasingly traceable.
