How we helped a Real Estate firm identify potential Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for Real-Estate development

March 17, 2023

The Context

The client, a Real-Estate firm, wanted the TresVista Team to identify potential Requests for Proposals (RFPs) related to Real Estate development from select cities and housing authority websites. This would help them keep track of relevant projects up for execution. The client wanted the team to create an RFP Book in a presentation and present the data to showcase the client’s work and capabilities to the Housing Authority to be considered eligible for executing the deal. The team also created a deliverables tracker, which served as a checklist for the details to be incorporated in the RFP Book as per the guidelines mentioned by the Housing Authority.

The Objective

To identify relevant Requests for Proposals and create the proposals for submission to issuing authorities.

The Approach

The TresVista Team followed the following process:

  • Identified potential RFPs from various city and housing authority websites
  • Created an RFP Tracker by including all relevant proposals with essential details like issue date, due date, project size, etc., and shortlisted relevant deals based on client requirement
  • Created a deliverables tracker consisting of a checklist of all the submission requirements as mentioned by the housing authority
  • Highlighted all the work done and the capability of the client to undertake the existing project in the RFP Book presentation

The Challenges We Overcame

The major hurdles faced by the TresVista Team were:

  • Combing through a significant number of RFPs each day across various city and housing authority websites was time-consuming as most of these RFPs didn’t match the client’s work
  • Insufficient time for scoping and final execution of the deal as most of the relevant RFPs had a short due date for submitting the proposal to the authorities

The TresVista Team overcame these hurdles by understanding the client’s priority states and narrowing the RFP’s search bandwidth. The team leveraged client-approved databases and screened relevant RFPs. Since the execution of the first deal was time-consuming, the team created a base template for the deal’s structure that could be used for future deals. This templated helped improve time efficiency.

The Value Add – Catalyzing the Client’s Impact

The TresVista Team provided a database option to streamline the screening of the RFPs. The team created a base template for the deal’s structure, which reduced the execution time by ~30%.
